Utah Association
of Educational Office
Professionals

Introduction
The Utah School Employees Association
(USEA) and the Utah Association of Educational Office Professionals (UAEOP)
have teamed up to coordinate and develop training opportunities for
educational office professionals in Utah. Mike Hepner, and Bryan Sprague of
USEA worked with Rick Bouillon and Rick J. Graham of Salt Lake Community
College (SLCC) to develop a classified professional development program that
could be used to meet the training and educational needs of our members. It
is this relationship that has allowed USEA/UAEOP to investigate ways to
develop educational programs for our members.
During this past year USEA's
representatives have worked with Midge Treglown, CEOE, Educational Council
Chairperson, Sherrie Wilson, Joann Monroe, President of UAEOP and SLCC to
develop and provide members with specific training opportunities for the
National Association of Office Educational Professionals' (NAEOP)
Professional Standards Program (PSP). Currently Ms. Treglown is working
with NAEOP to review and approve online courses that are currently offered
by SLCC for inclusion as recognized programs that are PSP compliant.
The PSP program allows educational office
professionals based on training and individualized study the opportunity to
receive the following certifications: Basic, Associate Professional,
Advanced I, Advanced II, Advanced III, Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree,
Master Degree, and Doctoral Degree. Individuals can also earn the Certified
Education Office Employee (CEOE) upon completion of certain certifications.
